Role Description

Sales Managers are responsible for executing on RSS’ revenue and market share objectives through consultative value-based selling techniques. Sales Managers are responsible for new business development in region and are expected to drive the sales cycle from lead qualification to closure, and provide high caliber transitions to our implementation services and support teams. This role is rewarding to natural leaders with an entrepreneurial spirit and competitive drive who enjoy making a direct and identifiable impact on a growing company.

Desired Knowledge/Skills:

  • Interest in the intellectual property licensing market.
  • Aptitude for positioning complex / high-value products or solutions.
  • Aptitude for structured and systematic market analysis and pro-active prospecting.
  • Competitive strategy acumen and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication in English (including ability to present to senior audiences); aptitude for executive-level communication.
  • Additional European language(s) a plus, preferably French and/or German.

Responsibilities include:

  • Building and executing on market coverage and prospecting programs within RSS target markets in Europe, by geography and industry.
  • Creating demand for RSS solutions within identified European accounts.
  • Developing pro-active sales plans and managing qualified leads through to closure.
  • Establishing relationships with appropriate industry groups and consulting services partners.
  • Negotiating commercial terms, with appropriate support & approval from RSS management.
  • Liaising with other functions within the company to prepare and deliver technical and commercial proposals.
  • Maintaining knowledge and understanding of RSS, its products, and assigned market segments and accounts as appropriate.
  • Moderate travel within Europe and occasional travel to RSS offices in the US (Los Angeles; Boston).

This role is entrepreneurial and requires innate curiosity, flexibility, resilience, quick thinking and quick action.
